Our events are designed for students receiving university education at all levels. However, the content, scope, and target audience of each event are additionally specified on the event's page. You may apply for any event that interests you and suits your circumstances.
Registration begins with the announcement of the events. You can register for an event by using the REGISTER button located on each event page. After the initial application, your name is placed on the Preliminary Application list. The preliminary application list is evaluated according to the criteria announced by the coordinator of each event, and the final registration list is formed.
If you meet the conditions required by the event, you may be placed on the Final Registration or Waitlist. These conditions are specified by the course coordinators in the event announcement. The final list is determined by the coordinator of the relevant event according to the quota and criteria established for the event.
Final Registrations are made after coordinator approval. We announce application results to everyone who submitted a Preliminary Application on a weekly basis. Those on the Waitlist will be informed again depending on the status of registrations.
The most current contents are announced by the Academic Board together with the events. Since the content of each event is different, we recommend that you examine each one individually.
All summer events are one week long. After completing final registration, we expect you to arrive at the village on Sunday and stay at the Village until the following Sunday.
Difficult question :) But we believe that the answer will be entirely different for each event and for each participant attending the events. However, as a principle, when designing the contents of our events, we aim for participants to encounter perspectives they may have never thought about before or were unaware of, and to become acquainted with paths and methods they have not seen.
The Village of Sciences is a non-profit organization. However, it needs resources to ensure its continuity. For this reason, participation in the programs is fee-based. The participation fee for the event is listed on the event page.
The Village of Sciences aims to provide scholarships; however, the amount of the scholarship and how many people can benefit from it will be determined according to available resources.
The participation fee covers tent accommodation within the Village campus, the use of all common areas, three meals and one snack. Tea, water, and coffee are included, of course.
Before some events, there may be recommended work and readings for participants to complete before coming to the Village. Completing these works and readings before the events will increase the contribution the events make to you.
Our Village Guidelines are sent to the participant along with the Final Registration. Our expectation from participants is that they comply with the rules of the Guidelines.
We also recommend that you become our supporter before becoming our participant: You can become our donor and/or volunteer, follow us on social media, and help spread our announcements.
We do not issue certificates to those who participate in the events. However, upon the participant's request, we can announce their participation on the event's page on our website. You may use this as a certificate when necessary.
The success criteria for each event will differ from one another. As a principle, success in the events will not be measured by an examination.
