Foundations
The Academic Board is responsible for the academic functioning of the Village of Sciences.
The Academic Board operates completely independently. It has no limitations other than compliance with the Futures Document.
It receives status and needs information for the next twelve months from the Sciences Collective administration, and creates the academic plan and calendar accordingly.
Operation
The term of office of the Academic Board is one year. Its composition is determined by the previous Board, observing the principles of equality and merit.
Academic fields, university and city distribution, and gender distribution are the subjects of these principles.
It determines the Board Coordinator at its first meeting.
It is preferred that decisions be taken unanimously. In case of voting, the Coordinator's vote counts as two in the event of a tie.
Meeting Schedule and Topics
The Board meets face-to-face at least twice a year.
The first meeting is held with the agenda of determining the academic program for the next 12 months.
The second meeting is held in September-October with the agenda of evaluation and determining the new board.
Video calls are held when needed upon the call of the Coordinator or members.
Decisions are shared via documents located on the network.
