In the second of our thematic film screenings focused on Latin American cinema, held as part of the Village of Sciences Ankara events, we shifted our focus to political coups and authoritarian regimes.
Through Pablo Larraín’s film No, we conducted an in-depth analysis of the 1973 Chilean coup and the referendum process against the Pinochet dictatorship. Together, we discussed the role of advertising and media strategies in social opposition, methods of coping with political pressure, and the people's unforgettable struggle for democracy.
We would like to thank all our participants for their contributions and Respublika Kafe for hosting the event.
